About Japanese Head Spa
Japanese Head Spa
The Japanese head spa is the slower of our two head spa treatments. It is built around water, warmth and extended hands-on work rather than around a device.
The scalp is cleansed and rinsed repeatedly with warm water, with massage worked through the scalp, along the neck and across the shoulders. The pace is deliberate: this is a treatment people book when they want the hour as much as the result.
It still does real work for the scalp: lifting residue, improving how the scalp feels, and releasing tension that tends to accumulate there. It simply gets there by a different route than the Korean treatment.
What the ritual involves
Your practitioner begins by assessing the scalp and asking where you hold tension, which shapes how the massage work is directed.
The scalp is cleansed and rinsed with warm water in repeated cycles, interspersed with massage through the scalp and hairline.
Neck and shoulder work follows, and the session finishes with a conditioning treatment suited to your hair and scalp.
