Skin Resurfacing
Skin resurfacing here is done with Viva MD NanoFractional radiofrequency. Fine pins deliver energy through the surface into the skin below, creating controlled micro-zones of treated tissue with untouched skin in between.
That pattern is the point. Leaving healthy tissue between the treated zones is what allows the skin to repair from the edges inwards, which is why fractional treatment can work at a meaningful depth without taking the whole surface off.
Because it is radiofrequency rather than a traditional laser, it does not rely on being absorbed by pigment, which broadens the range of skin tones that can be treated. Your practitioner still assesses your skin and sets the parameters individually.
How NanoFractional resurfacing works
The handpiece places an array of very fine pins against the skin and delivers radiofrequency energy through them. Each pin creates a narrow channel of treated tissue; the skin between the channels is left intact.
Depth and density are set by your practitioner: how deep the texture damage goes, your skin tone, and crucially how much recovery you can take that week. The same device can run a light refresh or a far more thorough pass.
You will be told honestly which setting your goal actually requires. Asking for a deep result with no recovery is the one combination we cannot deliver.

No. Viva MD NanoFractional uses radiofrequency delivered through pins rather than light. That distinction matters: because it is not absorbed by pigment in the same way, it can be considered across a wider range of skin tones.
It depends on the depth used. A light pass may mean a day or two of pinkness; a deeper pass commonly means several days of pinkness and a rough surface texture. Your practitioner will give you a specific expectation before you book, so you can plan around work or an event.
Scarring may be softened rather than erased, and a course is usually needed. How much change is realistic depends on the type and depth of the scarring, which your practitioner will assess directly rather than estimate from a photo.
Yes. The neck, chest and hands are commonly treated, and body areas with textured scarring or stretch marks are treated on the same principle.
Texture work is almost always a course rather than one visit. The number depends on what is being treated and how your skin responds, and is set at the assessment.
